So, what does a typical day in the life of a cat staying at The Cat’s Whiskers look like? Let Dave and Dexter tell you…

“We’ve just spent a lovely couple of weeks at The Cat’s Whiskers cattery while our humans were off on their holidays. I (Dexter) have very limited sight so usually go into the same chalet where I can find my way around.  The chalet is lovely and warm, and we have little igloo beds that we can curl up and hide in.

Wake up time in  the morning is usually sometime between 7.30 and 8.00, when Cheryl, and sometimes Pete too, does the first clean of the day.   Then it’s the best bit – breakfast! – when we have our wet food and our biscuits are topped up so that there’s always some food down for us to graze on during the day.”

“We then have quiet time – unless there’s a noisy neighbour as there has been this week! – when we can snooze in the sun or just sit and watch the world go by, as there’s always something happening at the Cat’s Whiskers with new guests coming in, others going home, daily cleaning and maintenance.

Around 11 am, Cheryl does a treat run and a second clean, when, so long as we’re allowed them, we’re offered something tasty to nibble on – maybe a bit of tuna or chicken, or a few Dreamies (otherwise known as cannabis for cats!).   Then, quiet time again, whilst Cheryl and Pete get on with whatever they need to do for the day.   At 3pm, it’s treat time again and afternoon clean, then maybe a brush – we absolutely love being brushed!   Tea time is around 5.30 to 6.   And around 10.00 pm, Pete comes to check that we’re all OK and then it’s lights out.  It’s lovely and relaxing there and lets us cats do what we do the best – sleep and eat.

We’re so spoiled and well looked after that we always go home looking and feeling relaxed and happy, which makes our humans happy too”.
