RIP to our VIPs (Very Important Pussies)
It’s become an end of year tradition to remember fondly and celebrate those furry friends we’ve said ‘goodbye’ to in the past 12 months. This is especially poignant for us this year, as in June we had to say goodbye to our own beloved Sindy, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge after living her best life here in Hilgay for three years. She was an absolute little poppet and is so very much missed – we think about her every day and always will.
Of the ‘old’ regulars, we said a sad farewell to tiny little Kebi, gorgeous gent and his bad hair days ‘Mr’ Fudge, beautiful tortie Beryl, who had been staying here for many years (Bertie, her son, first stayed here when he was a tiny kitten and opened his eyes for the first time here), and smashing Smokey, one of the black cats so very much loved by Jane. Some left us far too young through illness or accidents – little black & white Sprout, chatty Maggie with her love of feet, shiny black Carly, and gorgeous grey Misty; and some had a truly fabulous long life – Siamese Lottie, big gentle Tormey, one-eyed tabby Marley who loved to climb all over us, gorgeous ginger Rupert, beautiful black Libby, whose coat turned rusty brown in the sunlight, pretty calico/tortie Flower, terrific tabby Milo, Wodger, with his unique colour pattern and ‘gentleman’ Jack.
Whether they stayed with us once or a hundred times, we loved them all, miss them lots and remember them fondly. Sending our love and warm thoughts to any of you who have said farewell to your cuddly companions this year.
See you soon.
Love, Cheryl & Pete xx
