Mango and Monty the Muntjac!
We asked for your cat stories and pictures. Here’s a lovely one from Helen, who lives with gorgeous ginger and white Mango who has stayed with us several times now.
“Mango is three in April. We picked him up from the RSPCA as a one year old, though we don’t know why he was there, as he’s such a lovely boy. As soon as I walked in his pen he cuddled me and wouldn’t let go.
We have a large, wildlife-friendly garden, where Mango spends most of his day. He loves being outside and follows us, and the wildlife around, though we keep him in at night and he sleeps on our bed. He’s a real explorer and wants to be everything’s friend! He’s a tree climber as well! And recently, he has befriended a deer – affectionately known as Monty the Muntjac – that visits our garden daily. They spend time together and Mango follows him around, even bringing him to the back door! This seems so normal now. I thought you might like to see a few photos of Mango with his new best friend”.
We certainly second Helen’s comment about how lovely Mango is – he’s a real cuddler and a super friendly boy. And how lovely to see a friendship that crosses species boundaries. If you’d like to see more photos of Mango and his best friend, take a look at the Facebook group, Nature of the Fens (and East Anglia) where Helen is a regular contributor. And if you’d like us to feature your own cuddly companion, please get in touch.
