Both recused from NANNA (Northamptonshire Animals Needing Nurturing & Adoption) in January 2020 – they had been in the centre for 3 years – We think they are both around 11 years old.
Sonny
Sonny was once terrified of everything. He spent his first 2/3 months living under the dining table, sneaking out only for food and to go to the toilet. Pete spent hours talking to him and coaxing him out until he finally accepted us and would move around the house. He would not go outdoors for 4 months even if we left the door open for him. He could not jump he was in the crouch position for so long he was so out of condition but slowly he got fitter and learnt to jump like normal cats. Slowly he gained confidence and followed Pete outside and would follow him around the garden.
We gained his trust and eventually he would be in the same room with us but still avoided human beings. Over the last year that has changed and he is more confident around adults and, since moving to the cattery, he has come on leaps and bounds he loves to go and see our guests.
He is a very greedy boy, always hungry, very naughty and tries to get in the cat kitchen to see if he can find more food. Eats anything – the more meat the better.
His favorite place is our bed and loves to lay in it when the sun shines in. A real Daddy’s boy, he is an excellent mouser and brings us many presents! He loves being outdoors especially early hours of the morning, mousing! Hates the doorbell and rain, loves kicking his toys around.
Sindy
She tried to be friendly when we first got her but spent a lot of time crouching and was very frightened. Loud noises would have her hiding a lot. She’s now friendly but a timid little girl, loves her kisses and cuddles. An excellent mouser but she has a horrible habit of biting their heads off and eating them – YUCK!
She suffers with IBD so has a real problem controlling her bowels. We manage her condition but there is no cure. We just have to make sure she is comfortable. and living her best life.
Unlike Sonny she is a Mummy’s girl and spends most of her time with Mummy. If Mummy is in the office Sindy is on her desk nudging for cuddles. Hates our grandchildren (they are too noisy!!!).
Loves her catnip sack that she beats the hell out of every day. She is a fussy eater but likes fish products mainly and loves biscuits and is partial to a bit of bacon or sausages. Favourite place on Mummy’s laptop. She is a fair weather girl rain or cold she is indoors.
They both look forward to meeting you.
