The Cat’s Whiskers, 7 months on…
It’s now been 7 months since we took over the Cat’s Whiskers. As part of our licence requirements, we are inspected annually by the Licensing Officer from the Borough Council, and this happened shortly after we took over in December last year. Last month, and because we had embarked on a huge programme of renovation and refurbishment, we had a mid-term inspection. And the Licensing Officer was clearly impressed, and commented “The improvements you have made are very good and that is paying off with repeat customers and good news travels fast”.
This is absolutely brilliant for us. We were under no illusions about how hard it would be to run a cattery; t’s been a lot of hard work, physically tiring and emotionally challenging at times, and we’re now really happy with how the cattery is looking, and with the positive feedback we get from our customers (and your feline friends!) who clearly appreciate the changes we’ve made. We’ve gained a lot of new customers, many of them on the basis of personal recommendations and we’ve kept our existing ones too. We will be having a very busy summer season – the rest of this month is busy, August is almost completely full apart from the odd few days, and September is looking pretty full too. Great news for us! And an unexpected, but very pleasant bonus is that with all this physical effort, we have both lost weight and got much fitter!
